25 May
Day 3 started with a long drive to Tsitsikama Nature Reserve after a quick breakfast. Even after arriving a little bit late on a cloudy and light drizzle day, the friendly staff welcomed us with open arms. We were geared up after attending a short, but very professional briefing about activity number 3. Because of the me being in the wheelchair, they booked an extra hour than normal. After a short drive to platform 1, the fun and challenge started! To be honest, this was by far the most physically challenging activity for me. We were 20-30m in the tree tops, sliding on a 1km zipline cable, hooking on and off at each of the 10 platforms. But still it was nice to challenge myself and this was a reminder that God didn’t promise that life will be without difficulty. I had to remind myself to my slogans for later in my motivation speech: “Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to that” and “No Guts, No Glory” After the activity the managing director invited me to help with the design of their wheelchair accessible ablution facilities,I was very impress with the research and thought that they put into it to cater for people with disabilities. Well done guys! Visit Tsitsikamma Canopy Treetopping
